| | SITD - Ascension (ext.) | ] | Quixotic -
1) Caught up in the romance of noble deeds and the pursuit of unreachable goals; idealistic without regard to practicality.
2) Capricious; impulsive: “At worst his scruples must have been quixotic, not malicious" (Louis Auchincloss).
adj : not sensible about practical matters; unrealistic; "as quixotic as a restoration of medieval knighthood"; "a romantic disregard for money"; "a wild-eyed dream of a world state"
Today, I AM DON QUIXOTE. I will hear no back talk.
So like, this is pretty amazing. Nearly a year after Hurricane Katrina, I HAVE AN APARTMENT AGAIN! (I do not count my exile among the Houstonians.) It's exciting. And once I get my shoji screens I will be living large, living off the fat of the land. Yhurd?
Uh, if anyone reads this who'd be interested and doesn't know yet, I have indeed created my livejournal community dealing with apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic everything, mostly books and movies...so if you haven't joined yet, get up on it... diluvium_ignis...we actually READ books and TALK about them! Isn't that cool? And if you don't care, you probably know someone out in LJ land who might.
I've been busting my brain on this Japanese language, Nihongo, again. I got my TESL/ESL certification and all I have to do is wave my pinky through the air and supposedly they find me a job when I want one. But I will not be ready until I can say, "I'm riding the bus down a street in Shinjuku." And write it. Which is much harder. Let's see...Boku wa...basu ni...unten shite, wait no that's driving...tori...Shinjuku...jisho wa doko desu ka? I'm embarrassing myself. If only all of you could have heard my supe-chi about preparing tofu last Saturday though, that was awesome. And I got a Starbucks gift card for it too. No trophy though :[
Let's see...what else? So much, so much. I DJed at a club night in Long Beach called Sacrilege, that was fun, many people danced to my whole set. I will most likely be spinning at some other venues too sooner or later.
God, SITD is sad. Though my electronica tastes have shifted more to the screamy harsh terror EBM stuff (like the new Tactical Sekt which I BARELY managed to get the limited edition double CD set of), I have favored some new synthpop I've been hearing. Syrian, Conetik, Les Anges de la Nuit are all super cool. You should have seen those crazy fools dance to Cold Star! w00t Everyone says that Conetik sounds just like Covenant, but I think only Cold Star really does. What can you do? Good tanz muzak is good tanz muzak. Besides, isn't Covenant like electroclash now or something? Just kidding. I like the new album ok.
I read a great book that I can't really talk about on diluvium_ignis because it's so not really the theme, though it is about the fall and end of an age...
take a peek.
I now reluctantly go back to my paper pushing. Pray that no Amazon breaks my heart and neck.

And no bitching about no cut tags. I never post on here and it was long overdue.

| | Decoded Feedback - reflect in silence | ] | So yeah, this broken leg thing has gotten REALLY OLD REALLY FAST. True, at least I've done it before (although the actual injury and the circumstances surrounding it were far scarier then) but I'm not making any money, I'm not doing karate, and I can't stop sleeping and eating! And I have waaaay too much time to think. I'm not going to be a happy boy if I don't get switched to the padded cyberboot on Thursday morning.
PLEASE any deity that's listening heal me the f*ck UP and I promise I'll never underestimate a stress fracture ever ever again!
At least I got presents. |

Why are you such an egotistical jerk. You think you're so cool, but it's obvious that you're a homo. No one gives a shit about you or your stupid homo band. You're nerdy looking and I'm sure that you butt fuck each other. You can eat my fucking diarrhea!
EXCUSE me stupid but Ned is not gay, if you listened to his music I think you'd hear "she" this and "she" that quite a lot but I guess you haven't listened to any of it b/c you have bad taste in music and you're probably ugly too you cunting FUCK |

You people would not BELIEVE how hard it is to find a good Celtic/Irish studies program that's well located AND reasonably priced. I'm sorry, I cannot live in Wisconsin, Ned has moved to Cali and it is therefore not even a 1 on the cool scale.
My auto class is a riot. I think Marvin (the instructor) may in fact be my father. I'll have to ask him if he's ever wandered by western New York after class next week.
Note: if you ever see a bitch in a dark red tank top that has the word "FREEDOM" spelled out in metal studs, PLEASE kill her and save me the trouble.
UUGGH I feel gross. Headachey. Cranky. I'll be out tonight but I can't guarantee that I'm going to be resembling cheerful. |

This drum & bass shit is so totally addictive. Where have I been?
Oh yeah. Thanks.
Folding t-shirts for five hours straight does nothing for one's ability to produce coherent thought. Topico Caliente t-shirt folding drone madness, that's what it is. And Church's chx is not the cure, much to my surprise. I knew Chx Box was the better option. Peppery, lots of meat, and chEEp.
Psst, the Goggle Wizard has descended once more upon the French Market. Seems he was ill much as Jon T. and I had suspected, but he's better now, so go check out Space 91. You're not going to get there before me though. :p

| | Nulldevice - I probably know you [painfully gay] | ] | I've been reading way too much theoretical sci-fi bullshit on MSNBC. I'm starting to apply all of this to everyday life.
( said bullshit ) I don't know how I feel about living in a ten-dimensional universe. I can't even handle the four that I'm capable of perceiving.
Cool word of the day: Parallelepiped
In REIGN, the animated show about Alexander the Great, the thing that changes all reality is called the Platohedron. It should have been Platollelepiped if you ask me but no one did.
I <3 Blue Gender. It may not be all that original as far as anime is concerned but it's damn entertaining.
In other trivia, I visited home two weeks ago. Necropolis (formerly Das Maschine - let's hear it for progress) @ Independent Bar (formerly Barbarella) in downtown Orlando still draws quite the crowd, and the DJing was most satisfying. Friendly people too I must say, and some sexxxay boyz. Again, no Castle for me. It was Tampa or hang out with my best friend from anon. :\
Apparently I cannot freak myself out on mad amounts of caffeine for long drives anymore. My whole system was a wreck after the trip back and I had to pee every ten miles. Most unpleasant.
Final note: I will NEVER agree to watch nine hours of straight TV again after this recent DUNE / Children of DUNE marathon. Why did I ever think that would be a good idea? I mean it was fairly absorbing and all if only for all of the male bootie that kept flashin' but all I could think of the whole way through was how they could have condensed that, and that and that that THAT |

| | Stromkern - Solar | ] | 12:30 in the morning, after seeing 28 Days Later, I take a boy to eat at Ming Palace in Metairie, a late night Chinese place. I order beef in hot garlic sauce.
There is a fucking CATERPILLAR on my plate.
I crack up laughing because I'm a phreak and my date is offended and made ill and complains to our waitress who also cooked the food apparently, and she picks it off of the plate with her fingers and tries to tell us that it was part of the broccoli.
RIGHT.
It was awesome. The illusion of a sterile world was lost to me years ago after working in a restaurant but this was a bit excessive, yes?
So whatever you do, don't eat at Ming Palace. EVER. Not even if it's really late and nothing else but Denny's is open and you don't want to go there b/c you ate there LAST night.
Everyone excited about that new Fictional album or what? |

| | Stromkern - Re-Align (Echo Virus rmx) | ] | So yeah, I think karate-do is the coolest. I took my first karate belt test last Sunday. It was a lot like the Tae Kwon Do belt test I took many winters ago, only easier, b/c in Tae Kwon Do you spar with people freestyle regardless of what rank you are. But Karate is, well, Japanese. 'Nuff said. Plus I do personally think it's more aesthetically pleasing as a style even if not as hardcore as Tae Kwon Do. I'm just kind of mad at myself for not forking over the extra cash to test for two belts instead of one, b/c I REALLY had that Heian 2 kata down.
Bah.
I hope I don't have to take any drug tests anytime soon for employment, I really don't want to have to starve myself and time my peeing down to the second.

j0anie! I will suck your glowworm's head. I will suck its brains mercilessly as you look on, horrified and helpless, as I rub myself furiously in an erotic way while screaming what I always scream in situations like these.."DADDY, DADDY, do it like THIS, DADDY!!!" Do they do drug tests at Starbucks? I don't remember you mentioning it but I'd be surprised if they don't. |

How can you be sweet natured and a serial killer at the same time? I guess that means I complement their hair or try to give them good advice on dealing with stress while I'm deciding whether I should put them in the freezer or eat them while they're still fresh. |
